main character, Hayoung's husband

Personality
he's ever-relaxed and never-serious. His age is unknown even to himself. He was found in the stone chest in the middle of the sea. Unlike hot-tempered, hasty Hayoung, he's rather slow in everything except when he's eating. He falls asleep wherever and whenever he feels full. He seems to put himself in-between the good and evil and thus his actions are unpredictable. He follows Hayoung for food but starts to help her once he recognizes the effort she put to her own goals.

Goals
His only motto is 'live to eat, not eat to live!'. He does anything for food. But he sets new goals as he falls for Hayoung.

Capabilities
- physical : excellent sense of smell and monstrous power when full
-godly : like other gods, he can transform himself or detect other gods
- specialties : he extracts characteristics of other creatures/ elements by eating them. He can gulp stone or steel and adopt the properties to his body. This helps Hayoung find the ingredients or recipe of the gods later on.

Role
a leading character. She's the cause of many events which take place and is Kenegito's motive to solve what she has caused.

Personality
she has a strong personality. She knows what she's doing and would often remain stubborn due to pride even when she knows she's wrong. This often develops into problems. She realizes her weaknesses through traveling and advances, with many friends, to become world's best cook.

Goals
world's best cook! She's a prize winner of a cooking competition but a special guest panel describes her dishes as trash. It's now that she meets Kenegito when she takes a careful look back on her cooking. She learns to make food that comforts hurt and saddened hearts.

Role
only character who knows all the truth. He knows well about the depressing and painful past of Kenegito and Hayoung but conceals it. He quietly understands the pain in each heart. He's sometimes strict to Hayoung or generous to Kenegito. He puts a light touch to the story.

Personality
source of unpredictable ideas which lead him to dancing with his manager, Yunggu, in an attempt to hold a childish event. He has a philosophy about cooking and never compromises. He acts weird when he feels the 'godly taste'.
Goals
Hayoung and Kenegito to reach the topmost level. He wants Hayoung to become world's best cook and Kenegito to throw back the misdeeds he committed in the past and become, again, the absolute being.

Role
He's a comical character. He was an able secretary of the King but finds it hard to adopt himself to the life on the land. He makes stupid jokes which are not very welcome by his acquaintances. He tries food that nobody does and gets into trouble but is always neat and clean, or at least he tries.

Goals
"Big Mouth" and "Good Spirit" coexist on each side of this book. Big Mouth has a wicked character while Good Spirit is good. Big Mouth always lies and Good Spirit always tells the truth in a riddle-like phrase. They reflect the inner conflicts of the main characters. Indecisive and always lying is Big Mouth who switches the right to wrong and vice versa. He asks Hayoung for a kiss in return for the secret he would reveal to her. Good Spirit always apologizes for the faults of Big Mouth, saying his words contain a deep meaning and doesn't blame him for the lies he makes.
